Stand and Table Fans
1. I can't find the inner pole: Take the height adjustment knob off the outer pole, insert your finger into the outer pole, feel for the inner pole and pull up.
2. The setscrew is stripped: The setscrew nut is out of alignment or missing. Turn the control box upside down and look inside the slot, adjacent to the hole were the inner pole inserts, and push the nut all the way up into the slot. If the nut is not in the slot, contact WindChaser Customer Service for this part.
3. I can't get the inner pole to stay adjusted to my desired position: Tighten the height adjustment knob clockwise.
4. The blade is difficult to install: Make sure the 'D' shaped cutout in the center hub of the blade matches up with the 'D' shape on the motor shaft.
5. The blade cap installs counterclockwise: make sure the cap is turned counterclockwise onto the shaft.
6. I can't install the front grill to the back grill: The grill ring is probably misaligned. Look on the inside of the grill ring for the little teeth that run throughout the middle of the grill ring. The front grill needs to be affixed to one side of these teeth and the rear grill affixes to the other side of the teeth.
7. What is the mesh grill locker: This locker comprises of a small screw, nut and plastic washer. The plastic washer and nut are affixed behind the rear grill ring at the lip (located on the bottom of the grill ring), and the screw goes through hole of the lip from the front of the grill ring.
8. The remote doesn't work with the fan: Change the remote's batteries and/or move closer to fan. Make sure the fan is plugged into a live outlet. Call WindChaser Products, Inc. for further assistance.
9. What is the natural/breeze/rhythm mode: The fan's speeds cycle from high through low emulating a natural wind breeze.
10. What is sleep mode: The same as the natural/breeze/rhythm mode, except, the fan will turn off for a couple seconds between low and high speeds.
11. Can I program my fan's timer to turn the fan on: No, the timer can only be set to turn the fan off at one hour intervals.
12. What should I use to clean my fan: use a damp cloth for simple clean up of the product. Do not use any chemical cleaner such as acid, alcohol, etc. to clean fan. Do not spray water directly on the fan.
13. What are the electrical ratings of my fan: Look on bottom or back of your fan for the white or silver rating label sticker. You will find the wattage, voltage and hertz on this label, to find amperage divide the watts by the volts.

WindChill (WC161)
1. Can the WC161 fan be run indoors: Yes, but without the misting feature.
2. Can the pivot be adjusted: No, the fan is manufactured to shoot mist up and out over a large area.
3. How much water do the misters put out: Each nozzle puts out approximately 1.2 gallons of water per hour = ~ 5 gallons per hour.
4. Why is my fan wetting everything around it: The misters are probably clogged. Unscrew the misters one at a time and shake them. You should hear a clicking sound inside the nozzle because there is a small ball inside the nozzle to help the nozzle mist properly. If you do not hear a clicking sound, as your instruction book states, soak the nozzles in vinegar.
5. How close to the WC161 fan can I sit without getting soaked: ~ 5 feet.
6. Can I use an extension cord with the WC161: As long as the extension cord is a UL listed 3-pronged grounded type, 14 AWG.
7. I can't get the shroud installed: Loosen, DO NOT REMOVE, the clips and screws located on the inside of the shroud. You should notice 2 protruding pieces of plastic directly under the clips. The rear grill sits between the clip and the plastic protrusions. Start your installation at the top of the shroud, it is o.k. to remove the large setscrew and clip located here. As you slide the rear grill in between the clips and screws on the shroud, it may be necessary to remove some of these clips and screws; however, DO NOT REMOVE ALL OF THEM AS IT IS HARD TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO RE-INSTALL THEM.

WindColumn (WCF/WCFR)
1. The cable clamp is missing: The cable clamp and its screws are located under the rear base, note picture in manual.
2. What is the nature mode: See 'What is the natural/breeze/rhythm mode section'.
3. What is sleep mode: The same as the natural/breeze/rhythm mode, except, the fan will turn off for a couple seconds between low and high speeds.
4. Can I program my fan's timer to turn the fan on: No, the timer can only be set to turn the fan off at one hour intervals.
5. Should my fan wobble when I touch it: Yes, your fan is designed to oscillate from side to side; therefore, it will pivot on the oscillation mechanism when touched. However, the fan should not wobble when it is opera
ting and not being touched.

Portable Air Conditioners
1. My PAC-8/PAC-9 does not cool: Make sure the unit is plugged into a dedicated (only the PAC is on this circuit) 15amp CIRCUIT; these units need 12amps to start the compressor and 8amps to run the compressor continuously. If you do not understand what a circuit is (circuits and outlets are very different), please call WindChaser Products customer service for assistance. The unit's compressor sounds similar to a refrigerator's compressor when 'kicking' on; you should hear this sound when turning the thermostat knob, as the fan is always on.
To test the unit, plug the unit into your refrigerators outlet (the exhaust hose does not need to be installed while testing). If the unit comes on, you need to find a dedicated circuit. If the unit does not come on it may be defective.**
2. My PAC-8/PAC-9 cools for a short period of time and then turns off:
- How long is your exhaust hose? The exhaust hose can ONLY be extended another (5) feet with a rigid plastic tube (dryer type exhaust hoses will cause the unit to over heat) for a total of (9) feet.**
.
- How close is the unit to the wall? If the unit is only inches away from the wall and you are running the exhaust hose out a window, more than likely their exhaust hose bend is at 90` (every 90` bend is equivalent to 3 feet). In order for the unit to run more efficiently and not overheat, it should be at least 1-1/2 feet away from the wall and the exhaust hose should be at a 45` angle.**
.
- Are you exhausting the unit out a hole in the wall? If so, are you using a flap vent on the exterior of your home/office? The unit's compressor is not strong enough to push the flap on a vent open continuously and therefore will only run for a short period of time before overheating and shutting off. You should take the flap off the vent and replace it with a piece of screening.**
.
- Are you venting it into a ceiling or basement? Does the ceiling or basement have ample ventilation? If the ceiling or basement do not have a way of pushing the heat from the exhaust to the outside, the unit will work for a short period of time and then eventually overheat and shut off.**
**To test the unit in any of the above situations, (assuming of course that the compressor is coming on), take the exhaust hose off the unit and test run it for ½ hour to an hour. If the unit runs fine you need to readjust your exhaust venting. If the unit still overheats, a PAC-9 is possibly defective; a PAC-8 may need to be run on a low cool (see following info).
3. My PAC-8 overheats even without the exhaust connected: The unit needs to be run on a low cool cycle in order to build up moisture in the condensate pan, which will be blown onto the condenser in order to help keep the unit from overheating. Please perform the following procedures after the unit has rested (turned completely off) for at least 10 minutes:
- Turn the timer knob to continuous.
- Turn the speed knob to the first 'cooling' speed.
- Turn the thermostat knob until they hear the unit's compressor come on and leave it at this setting.
- Run the unit on this low cool cycle for at least 6 to 10 hours depending on the customer's humidity. The more humid the area, the less time it takes to build moisture. The dryer the area the longer it takes to build up moisture.
The PAC-8 needs to run on this low cool cycle every time you start it up in the summer (it should be drained at the end of every summer season), or every time you do not use the PAC-8 for a period of time (1 week to months).

1. My PACR93, S, 10, S is leaking: This may be caused by a few different reasons:
- Drain cap is not installed
- Drain is cracked and plug cannot be installed
- Drain and plug are fine. Unit leaks out of the base because the overflow switch on the
condensate bucket is malfunctioning, and slinger ring might be bad.
To correct either of these three symptons, please follow the
corresponding solutions.
1. Make sure the drain isn't broken, put on the drain cap. There's a rubber plug and a plastic screw-on cap.
If you do not have one, use a cork or contact WindChaser Customer Service to order a new one.
2.
Shave broken drain flat and use a cork. Or use a plumbing adhesive or epoxy to repair the drain.
3.
Contact WindChaser Customer Service.
2. My PACR93, S, 10, S does not cool much, if at all?
This may be caused by a few different reasons:
- Obstruction in exhaust hose.
- The intake in back of unit is obstructed
- Compressor may not be coming on (user will hear a low hum) if the unit is on an extension cord that is too small. If the exhaust hose is still pretty cool to the touch, this also is a sign the compressor is not coming on.
- If these things do not fix the problem, contact WindChaser Customer Service.
To correct either of these three symptons, please follow the
corresponding solutions:
- Have user check exhaust hose for kinks and to make sure
nothing is in it. Make sure the unit is in cool mode.
- Have user make sure nothing solid is blocking the flow of fresh air into the back of the unit. Make sure the temperature is set 5 degrees lower than the room temperature.
- Plug unit directly into wall or run an extension cord thicker than the unit’s power cord. Start unit earlier in the day when the ambient temperature is cooler (The compressor will shut off if the ambient temperature is above 88-90F). This is a security measure so that the compressor will not burnout.
3. My PACR93, S, 10, S LED lights do not come on?
This may be caused by a few different reasons:
- Circuit breaker in home might have tripped due to too much load.
- GFI plug might have tripped
- Circuit board failed
To correct either of these three symptons, please follow the
corresponding solutions:
- Check the breakers, or plug something else into outlet to verify power is still going to it.
- Check the plug to make sure it lights up. Press the reset button on it. Reset button is stubborn so you will need to press HARD to reset it until a click is heard.
- Contact WindChaser Customer Service.
4. My PACR93, S, 10, S caster is cracked/missing/damaged?
This may be caused by:
- Some units are shipped with the casters on. Others are just handled too roughly in shipping.
To correct this sympton, please follow instructions below:
- Contact WindChaser Customer Service to have a new caster sent to you.
5. My PACR93, S, 10, S alarm light is on?
This may be caused by a few different reasons:
- Unit’s condensate pan is full
- Unit’s condensate pan fills with water every 2-3 hours, ambient humidity above 85%.
- Humidity above 85%, unit fills once a day, or twice a day
To correct these symptoms, please follow the corressponding solutions:
- Drain unit.
- Contact WindChaser Customer Service.
- Unit is functioning normally. Environment is so humid that the unit will fill up that frequently. Below this level unit will typically be able to exhaust the water as vapor out the exhaust hose after misting it against the hot condenser.
6. My PACR93, S, 10, S LED screen is displaying "E5":This may be caused by a few different reasons:
- Compressor overheat/malfunction
To correct these symptoms, please follow the coressponding solutions:
- Contact WindChaser Customer Service.

Portable Dehumidifiers
Mini Dehumidifiers
1. My WDH-MW, MG, MP is making a lot of noise:
This may be caused by:
- The fan is dying on it and ready to seize up.
To correct this symptom, please follow the solution below:
- Contact WindChaser Customer Service to replace unit if you are still under warranty (6 months).
2. My WDH-MW, MG, MP doesn't make any noise and doesn't
draw in moisture:
-Is the green light on, on the unit? if so, it's the fan:
Contact WindChaser Customer Service to replace unit
-If the light is not lit, the power supply is bad.
-Contact WindChaser Customer Service to get a new power supply.
You may need to purchase a new one if you out of warranty.
3. My WDH-MW, MG, MP doesn’t draw moisture, but fan is on.
-What temperature is the room? Unit dehumidifies using
condensation. If temperature is below 55F the unit will
have trouble functioning.
WDH928
1. My WDH928 won’t stop running regardless of the knob's
position:
-Bad humidistat, will need to be replaced. Contact WindChaser Customer Service to send new humidistat
($10 if out of 1 year other parts warranty). While waiting for the new humidistat, the unit can still be used in the meantime -- run it for a few hours
and to turn it off, unplug it. One warning when doing this is to leave it unplugged for 5 minutes or so each time, as the
compressor should not be turned off and turned back on within 3-5 minutes.
2. Compressor turns on but no moisture collects: -What temperature is the room? Unit dehumidifies using condensation.
if temp is below 55F the unit will have trouble functioning.
-If temperature and humidity are normal, most likely the unit does not have enough refrigerant – If under warranty, contact WindChaser Customer Service to replace unit; if out
of warranty, we suggest taking the unit to an appliance dealer to add refrigerant
($50-$60).
3. Compressor never turns on: -Compressor protection circuit is tripping. Either the unit thinks it is freezing
up or the compressor is overheating. -Check temperature. If below 55F, unit can freeze up
easily. If warmer, contact WindChaser Customer Service for support.

Portable Ice Makers
1. Ice pusher does not push ice, but is not broken: The tabs that are on the hinges have broken off, allowing the pusher
to fall limp. Contact WindChaser Customer service to send new hinges and a set of installation instructions.
2. Ice Maker keeps making ice even though basket is full: Ice level sensor is bad.
If ice touches the ice level sensor (silver pellet-shaped piece just above the back rim of the ice basket) and the unit does not stop making ice, If you still have the sales reciept, and it has been only a few months, please return to place of purchase. If you do have your sales reicept or it has been over 2-3 months, please contact WindChaser Customer Service.
3.
ICE FULL Indicator Light shows ice basket full when it isn't: Possible defect in ice level sensor. Make sure no
ice is touching sensor. Sometimes ice basket will be full overnight and outermost cubes will melt, leaving only a sheet
of ice over the sensor. If sensor is free of any ice, put your thumb on the sensor to warm it up.
If light does not turn off, the sensor is faulty. Contact WindChaser Customer Service.
4.
Ice comes out firm, but wet: When ice is made, cooling rods freeze water closest to them but does not freeze the entire bucket full of water.
This is normal. Ice will typically come out a little wet. Unit dumps the excess water after a freeze cycle, then waits, then heats up the freeze rods to drop the ice on them.
5.
Ice cubes are watery, soft, and don't seem to be completely frozen. Related: some ice cubes smaller and not really frozen, some normal: Unit is plugged into an extension cord and compressor is not getting enough power.
Use an extension cord that is thicker than the cord on the unit, or plug directly into
an outlet. An extension cord of 10 feet or less will need to be as thick as the unit's power cord. Anything
over 10 feet is not recommended, but require a minimum of at least one step larger than the ICM15(S)'s power cord. If not using an extension cord and problem continues, contact WindChaser Customer Service.
6.
No water is pumping into the water tray, no warning lights:
Water pump has failed.
If under warranty, contact WindChaser Customer Service. If not, take unit to a repairman.
7. No water is pumping into the water tray, warning lights are on:
If the ice basket full or water low lights are lit the unit will not function. If both lights are lit and flashing, see below.
Add water or empty the ice basket to clear the warning light. Unit usually will not need to be reset. If necessary, unplug unit for an hour to reset, then plug in and run normally.
8.
Both warning lights are lit and blinking, unit isn't doing anything: Tray Malfunction. Something got stuck and did not allow the water tray to complete its range of motion (repeatedly).
Look to see if anything is obstructing the movement of the tray. Clear obstruction and reset unit by unplugging for an hour and plugging back in/running normally.
Tray motor or position sensor has failed. If the tray moves slightly you only hear a ticking, a gear stripped in the motor. If the tray gets stuck but then completes its range of motion when pushed, the position sensor is bad.
If under warranty, contact WindChaser Customer Service. If not, bring unit to a repairman.
10. Water Low Indicator Light is always on, regardless of how full the water bin is: Distilled, reverse-osmosis-filtered, or very pure water is being used and it doesn't conduct enough electricity to complete the circuit the level sensor attempts to make. Put 1 pinch of salt into main water reservoir, switch to harder water, or try tap water.
Even tap water with a pinch of salt fails to trigger the water sensor. Level sensor is most likely defective. Contact WindChaser Customer Service.

Plug N' Air Purifiers (IF-1, IF-2 and IMC-1)
1.
The nightlight is very dim, some or all bulbs might be out (IF-1, IF-2): If no lights are on: Unit is plugged into a power source with no power.
Try moving the unit to another plug.
If there is power to that outlet, contact WindChaser Customer Service.
2. Why are there two static strips in my box? Do they go bad?
(IF-1): The extra strip is mainly for convenience.
3. How often do I clean the unit?: This depends on how dusty the environment is.
For the first month or two, you should pull the strips out once a week to gauge how quickly it gets dirty.
4.
The Closet Fresh (IMC-1) goes through batteries in less than a week. sometimes a matter of hours: Use the power adapter.
5.
Outlets are either upside down or sideways: Manual instructs that the unit cannot be mounted upside or sideways.
It can. One precaution, put static strip in and hold unit upside down, then shake it firmly. The goal is to make sure static strip will not fall out. If it does, unit must be kept upright.
6.
The smell is overwhelming: Periodically unplug the unit if the smell is overpowering, or keep the room ventilated. While the smell is not toxic, the room should be well ventilated.
